RI Governor and Warwick Mayor Visited SES America facility: Innovations of a RI Manufacturer
We need our people to have skills that matter and jobs that pay.
To create high paying jobs in Rhode Island, we need to encourage our businesses to invest even more in research and development and to partner with our great colleges and universities.
Right after her State of the State address in the General Assembly the night before, RI Governor Gina Raimondo, with Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian, visited SES America last Thursday, February 4, 2016. True to her message, the Governor has shown interest on how businesses like SES America share her goals and vision on how “advance industry jobs can create high wages and economic growth”.
It was a great occasion for Phil Perut, SESA president, and its team to show their expertise in manufacturing Dynamic Message Signs for highway use and especially the latest technology like “DMS Connect”, a sign directly connected to the cloud to provide real time travel information and the latest solar powered sign technology. This is an exact and fitting example of the Governor’s objective in developing and making cutting edge products right here in the Ocean State.
The Governor also noticed the Research & Development efforts made by the company to develop new products and new software, another affirmation that SES America supports the major expansion of RI Research and Development Tax Credit proposal. The Governor also met the SESA employees and especially the newly graduated mechanical design engineer from Johnson & Wales as well as interns from local and international schools.
Phil Perut explained that SESA's goal is to partner with local authorities to provide the best possible products at competitive costs.
SES America is a manufacturer of messaging technologies in the transportation industry. Manufacturing dynamic message signs and other roadway messaging technologies since 1986 in RI, their focus is a solution-driven, client centric approach to meeting application requirements, large and small. SESA’s heritage is based on utilizing cutting edge technology to advance energy efficiency and increase functional and financial long term value while reducing maintenance expenditures.
